About PDC Center
Professional
Development Center (PDC)
In
recent decades, special attention has been given worldwide to specialized
training. This trend highlights that such an approach is a key pathway for
developing human resources and an essential tool for improving the quality,
innovation, and diversity of services. In the current century, the emergence of
new technologies and the rapid advancement of science and technology on a
global scale have significantly impacted the sustainability and growth of
educational institutions, exposing them to major transformations. Today, the
survival of educational institutions depends largely on enhancing skills and
maintaining a strong, qualified professional workforce. Institutions that
prioritize human resource development and training are now recognized among the
leading academic institutions. Moreover, a skilled workforce enables academic
institutions to effectively achieve their strategic goals.
Higher
education is considered one of the key drivers of national prosperity and
economic development. All higher education institutions strive, on one hand, to
build their credibility and ensure their sustainability, and on the other hand,
to align their activities with the needs of students, society, and the job
market. This alignment helps them position themselves as providers of quality
higher education. For effective management, capacity building, and professional
growth, there is a need for a dedicated center to organize and implement such
activities in a structured manner. In 1399 (2020/2021), based on the decision
of the Academic Council, Mili University established and officially
inaugurated the Professional Development Center (PDC). Since then, the
center has consistently focused its activities on education, research,
student-centered approaches, and academic programs.
The
Professional Development Center of Mili University aims to strengthen
and develop the capacities of faculty members, staff, and students. Its
programs are implemented at different times in accordance with relevant plans
and based on the requests and proposals of concerned departments. All programs
are carried out by the PDC Director in coordination with the Academic Affairs
Office and the requesting departments. The center operates in accordance with
established laws, regulations, and procedures.
Objectives
of the Center
The
Professional Development Center (PDC) of Mili University is established
to enhance the academic and professional capacities of the institution. Through
various academic programs in research and specialized training, the center
provides professional development opportunities—up to certification level—for
faculty members, administrative staff, and students. It aims to address
existing gaps and create a strong foundation for capacity building and
continuous professional growth.
