Law Department
The Department
of Law of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Mili University has been
operating since the establishment of the institution with a creative and
committed approach to teaching legal and political science disciplines in
accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan.
The department
was initially established in 2012 under the title of the Department of
Judiciary and Prosecution within the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
Following a comprehensive evaluation and comparison of the former and revised
curricula in 2023, it was officially renamed the Department of Law.
The department
has graduated a considerable number of students, many of whom are currently
employed in governmental and non-governmental institutions. It regularly
organizes scientific seminars and academic programs each semester to enhance
students’ capacities and professional competencies, with the participation of
distinguished scholars and experts.
The Department
of Law is committed to meeting students’ academic needs through the provision
of educational resources, preparation of textbooks, and the authorship and
translation of scholarly works. It has contributed numerous graduates to
Afghanistan’s academic and cultural community. Supported by faculty members
holding doctoral and master's degrees, the department provides both theoretical
and practical education. Through a student-centered approach, it encourages
active participation in academic affairs and prepares students to address
contemporary legal and scholarly challenges professionally.
Brief History
Mili University
was established under Official License No. 387, issued on September 21, 2012,
and commenced its activities as a private higher education institution in three
academic disciplines.
Since its
inception, the Department of Law has provided academic services within the
framework of the Faculty of Law and Political Science. In addition to
fulfilling its responsibility of training qualified professionals to serve the
nation, the department has created a conducive academic environment for the growth
and development of future generations. Educating competent, talented,
committed, and specialized students remains among its primary priorities.
In 2024, the
Department of Judiciary and Prosecution was officially renamed the Department
of Law. This change was implemented to strengthen the academic structure and
align the curriculum with contemporary educational and professional needs.
Current Status,
Activities, and Facilities
Any educational
institution seeking to formulate and implement development plans must first
conduct a comprehensive assessment of its existing structure and performance.
Such an assessment provides the foundation for strategic planning and future
development.
Accordingly, a
brief overview of the current status of the Department of Law is presented. The
department operates under the leadership of a department head and functions in
accordance with the Higher Education Law and the regulations, policies, and
procedures issued by the Ministry of Higher Education. It is currently engaged
in various academic and educational activities aimed at achieving its
institutional objectives.
